Scholarship Fund |
|
Following the death in 1999 of their colleague and friend, Lynn
Mattis, the members of PTRA sought a means to remember and honor Lynn's generous spirit and his dedication to his profession and this industry. To that end, a scholarship fund was established to encourage and reward those enhancing their professional skills through continuing education. The membership of PTRA recognizes that each individual member's success serves to elevate the stature of
PTRA, and the deserved reputation of the group, as the best examples of industry professionals.
Funded by member and nonmember contributions, two scholarships are awarded annually by a blind drawing from the names of eligible
Representative and Principal PTRA members attending our Annual Conference. All
Principal and Representative Member firms will have the opportunity to be
eligible by simply accepting their eligibility on the Registration Form for the Annual Conference. Acceptance of eligibility requires only a $10 Contribution to the Fund, paid along with your Conference Fees. In exchange for the $10 Contribution, your firm's name will be entered in the
Representative and Principal member drawings for that year's scholarship award. The Annual Scholarship Awards (one
Principal and one Representative member winner will be drawn) are $400 tuition certificates to help offset cost for any of the following eligible Educational Programs offered through the Institute for Professional Advancement, the educational subsidiary of the
Manufacturers Representatives Educational Research Foundation
( www.mrerf.org
) :
Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative Program
Multiple Line Sales Training -
Certified Sales Professional Certification
Or any
One-Day Seminar for Manufacturers
offered by the Manufacturers' Agents National Association (www.manaonline.org)
Choosing to move to a higher level of business expertise through education is an endeavor that brings personal and professional
rewards. As the commitment to Continuing Education among the
Representative and Principal PTRA membership ranks grow, all members of the association profit from the increased recognition and attention throughout our industry.
